Registration Period
The registration page will remain open until Fri October 2nd, 2026 14:00 (CEST).
- Aug 17th, 2026 (CEST): Early-bird registration deadline (standard registation opens on Aug 18th, 2026)
- Oct 2nd, 2026 14:00 (CEST): standard registration deadline
- Oct 4th, 2026 (CEST): On-site registration opens
In-person participation only
MODELS 2026 is an in-person event for all participants and presenters. There will not be support for online presentations.
At least one co-author of every paper (main or satellite) must pay the participation fee by the early registration deadline and present in person. See below for details.
Registration Options
MODELS 2026 offers different participation packages.

The Satellite events run from Sunday to Tuesday and include workshops, tutorials, doctoral symposium, educator symposium, industry days, and EDTconf and SAM conferences. Satellite registration gives access from Sunday to Tuesday and includes the Satellite reception on Monday.

The Main conference runs from Wednesday to Friday and includes tracks of technical papers, keynote presentations, award talks, the panel, and poster sessions. The ACM SRC also happens in paralled with the main conference. Main conference registration gives access from Wednesday to Friday and includes the Welcome reception on Wednesday and Banquet on Thursday.

The Industry Day runs on Tuesday and includes invited talks from influential companies and all other events happening during these days. Industry day registration gives access to Tuesday and the satellite reception.

The Full package registration gives unrestricted access to the whole conference including all above.

Accompanying guests are welcomed. They are required to complete a separate registration and they will have access to selected events of the social program, with rates applied per event. Accompanying registration will be available until full capacity is reached.
On each day, two coffee breaks and a lunch will be offered to all registered participants (except accompanying guests). There are three main social events planned during the conference: a satellite events reception on Monday evening (Oct 5), a welcome reception on Wednesday evening (Oct 7), and the conference banquet on Thursday evening (Oct 8).
Author/Presenter Registration
Each paper presented and/or included in the proceedings must be covered by a registration, where the following applies:
- Workshop author, Tutorial presenter, SAM conference author, EDTconf author, and Educators symposium author must complete a regular registration for satellite events or full conference.
- Foundations/Practice track author, Tools & demo author, Journal-first presenter, and Poster presenter must complete a regular registration for the main conference or the full conference.
- Industry Day speaker must register for satellite events, or for the Industry day only.
- Doctoral symposium participants can register as students for the satellite events or the full conference.
- ACM Student Research Competition can register as students for the main conference or the full conference.
Registrations supporting accepted contributions must be completed by the early-bird registration deadline. Papers without a valid supporting registration after this date will NOT be included neither in the proceedings nor in the conference program. It is the authors responsibility to ensure that the registration is done on time.
A full package registration can cover up to two papers: one for a satellite event and one for the main conference. Registrations for only a satellite event or only the main conference cover a single paper.
One additional paper beyond these limits may be covered upon payment of an additional fee during the registration process. If you wish to include more papers, please contact: models2026registration@uma.es to have your request studied.
Industry Day Presenters
Each accepted presentation at the Industry Day will receive one complimentary registration, i.e., the registration fee will be waived. This benefit is intended for industry participants and applies to one presenter per accepted presentation who is affiliated with a company or industrial organization.
The complimentary registration covers full participation in the Industry Day program and applies exclusively to the main presenter associated with the accepted presentation.
Presenters who wish to attend the Satellite Reception on Monday evening may add this option during the registration process for an additional fee.
Student Discount
Students will benefit from a discount on their registration.
During the registration process, students must present valid proof of enrollment at an academic institution. If incorrect or fraudulent information is provided, the remaining balance of the regular registration fee will be due, and access to the conference will not be granted until the outstanding amount has been fully paid.
Student registration includes all social events included in their selected package.
Registration site
The registration site is provided by the University of Malaga.
Payments are accepted via card, Bizum, and Flywire (which allows bank transfers). All online transactions are processed through a secure, encrypted system to ensure the protection of your personal data.
IMPORTANT: If you need an invoice, you need to request it during the payment process. Billing information will be requested then. An invoice cannot be issued at a later stage.
Personal data collected during registration will be processed in accordance with applicable data protection regulations (including GDPR) and used solely for conference-related purposes.

* Members of the ACM and IEEE societies will receive a discount of 20 €. At the time of registration, members are required to provide a valid ACM or IEEE member ID. This membership will be validated.
** Please note that registration for the Industry Day is exclusively reserved for industry participants. Participants who do not qualify as industry representatives must register for one of the other available registration packages.
Cancellation and refund policy
General refund eligibility
Refund requests may be submitted according to the schedule below:
- Until August 17th, 2026 (CEST): Refund of the entire registration fee minus a 100€ administrative fee.
- August 18th – September 16, 2026 (CEST): Refund of 50% of the amount paid.
- After September 17th, 2026: No refunds will be issued.
Author participation requirement
No refund will be provided for registrations that are covering a paper presentation and/or included in the proceedings, unless you designate another co-author as the presenter and that co-author has a valid registration that can cover the paper.
Visa-related cancellations
No refund will be provided if a letter of invitation has been issued to obtain a visa, unless you submit official documentation from official authorities explicitly stating that your visa application has been submitted on time and has been denied. If your visa application is denied because you did not begin the process within the recommended timeframe, no refund will be issued.
Registration transfers
Registrations may be transferred to another participant upon request, subject to approval.

Visa Information
Spain is part of the Schengen Area. EU/EEA citizens and travelers holding a valid Schengen visa can enter Spain without needing an additional visa for short stays (up to 90 days). Spain also grants visa-free entry to nationals of certain countries for brief visits. Please check the official Spanish website for up-to-date information on whether you require a visa to enter Spain.
Visa support letters
ACM is able to provide visa support letters to registered attendees, authors and speakers with accepted papers/posters/talks, and conference committee members. To request a visa support letters, please use the from on the website https://supportletters.acm.org/
Please allow up to 10 business days for your information to be reviewed and your support letter to be processed. All requests are handled in the order they are received.
Alternatively, if you cannot access the form on the website above for any reason, please email acmsupportletters@executivevents.com with the following information:
- Name as it appears on your passport
- Current postal mailing address
- Indicate that you are attending MODELS 2026 in Malaga, Spain
- Registration confirmation number and/or
- Title of your talk or presentation, if you are presenting
Invitation letter
If you require an invitation letter, please contact us. Note that we can only issue an invitation letter for authors of an accepted paper, members of the organizing committee, tutorial presenters, or workshop organizers.
