Travel Information
Arriving in Flagstaff
Flagstaff is a tourist destination, and there are multiple ways of arriving here.
Arrival by Air
-
Flagstaff Pulliam Airport (FLG) is a 15-minute drive from the conference venue and is the most convenient choice. However, only American Airlines (part of the Oneworld alliance) flies to FLG. Upon arriving in Flagstaff, you can use a ride-sharing app (Uber or Lyft) or hail a taxi. Occasionally, taxis may not be immediately available at the airport. If you encounter this issue, visit this website for a list of local companies to contact. Generally, Uber and Lyft are the most reliable options. Additionally, some hotels provide complimentary shuttle service.
-
Phoenix Sky Harbour International Airport (PHX) is a 2-hour drive from Flagstaff. Shuttle service is available from PHX airport and Flagstaff (and back) throughout the day, making access to Flagstaff very easy from Phoenix. The shuttle departs the airport and stops very close to the conference venue. Some options:
- Groome. There is a shuttle every 1h30min from 7:30am to 12:30am.
- FlixBus: There are two buses per day leaving Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport to Flagstaff Train Station (very close to the conference venue).
- Greyhound There are three buses a day that leaves a bus stations near the Phoenix airport and arrives at a bus station in Flagstaff, 4 min by car from the conference venue.
- You can also rent a car in Phoenix and drive to Flagstaff. Many car rental companies operate in the PHX airport. In your registration confirmation email, we will find a communication channel in which you can organize rides and room sharing with the other ICSME participants.
- Contact us if you find any issues reaching Flagstaff.
-
Las Vegas (LAS) may be preferred by some passengers. It is a 4-hour scenic drive from Flagstaff. Las Vegas is also a popular tourist destination, offering affordable flights to multiple countries. Although many passengers prefer to rent a car and drive the scenic highway, a direct bus connects Las Vegas and Flagstaff. If time allows, we recommend a nice stop in Vegas, chilling, and then driving or taking a bus to Flagstaff.
Other Options
