Adoption of RMVRVM Paradigm in Industrial Setting: An Empirical Study
RMVRVM (Remote-Model View Remote-View-Model) offers an energy-efficient approach to developing cloud-connected user applications, serving as a replacement for the MVVM paradigm in creating UI-heavy applications for battery-operated devices. Given its significant impact on the architecture of cloud-connected applications, adopting the RMVRVM paradigm may pose challenges for IT professionals. This paper presents the results of an empirical study assessing the acceptability and challenges of adopting RMVRVM in industrial settings. The study was conducted in two phases: Phase 1 involved an online survey capturing industry professionals’ experiences with the paradigm, while Phase 2 gathered domain experts’ opinions through focused interviews. Qualitative and quantitative analyses of the data indicate that the RMVRVM paradigm is acceptable among IT professionals and has potential for industry adoption, provided certain challenges are addressed beforehand.
