National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, formerly known as Regional Engineering College, Kurukshetra, was founded in 1963. It was conferred upon the NIT status, with Deemed University on June 26, 2002. NIT Kurukshetra is an Institution of National Importance (INI). The Institute offers several courses in various disciplines: B.Tech., M.Tech., MBA, MCA, and Ph.D. with an annual intake of about 1500 students. The institute also provides excellent facilities for advanced research in the emerging areas of engineering, science, and technology.

How to reach:

Kurukshetra is very well connected by Road (NH44, connecting Delhi-Chandigarh Amritsar-Jammu), by Rail, (Delhi-Ambala section), and by Air (Delhi 160 km and Chandigarh 80 km). The nearest airport are Chandigarh and Delhi.

By Air:

  • The nearest airport to Kurukshetra is Chandigarh International Airport (IXC), located approximately 90 kilometers away. Once you reach Chandigarh, you can hire a taxi or use public transportation like buses or trains to reach Kurukshetra.

  • The second nearest airport to Kurukshetra is Indira Gandhi International Airport Delhi, located approximately 160 kilometers away. Once you reach Chandigarh, you can hire a taxi or use public transportation like buses or trains to reach Kurukshetra.

By Train:

  • Kurukshetra Junction railway station is well-connected to major cities like Delhi, Chandigarh, Ambala, Jaipur, and others. You can check the train schedule and book tickets through the Indian Railways website or other online platforms.

By Road:

  • From Delhi: Kurukshetra is around 160 kilometers away from Delhi. You can either drive your own vehicle or take a bus. Regular bus services are available from Delhi's ISBT (Inter-State Bus Terminal) to Kurukshetra.

  • From Chandigarh: Kurukshetra is about 90 kilometers away from Chandigarh. You can drive or take a bus from Chandigarh's ISBT to Kurukshetra.

  • From other nearby cities: Kurukshetra is well-connected by road to other nearby cities like Ambala, Karnal, and Panipat. You can use state-run buses or hire taxis to reach Kurukshetra from these cities.

  • By Car/Taxi: If you prefer travelling by car or taxi, you can hire one from nearby cities or airports to reach Kurukshetra directly.
