Connected Minds × IVADO: Accelerating Socio-Technical Innovation Together
This half-day (3h) panel workshop brings together members of the Connected Minds (Ontario) and IVADO R3AI (Quebec) initiatives to foster interprovincial collaboration around two key themes: the development of robust, reasoning, and responsibly governed AI systems; and the dynamics of human-technology interaction and the socially responsible adoption of emerging technologies. Through lightning introductions and moderated panels participants will compare approaches, identify complementarities, and surface concrete joint use cases.
The objective of the workshop is to bring researchers from both IVADO and Connected Minds networks together to compare approaches, identify complementarities, and highlight concrete opportunities where Connected Minds, IVADO, and the broader research community can co-accelerate innovation. In particular, we will invite panelists engaged in thematic research from both initiatives to share their perspectives and discuss real-world challenges in developing ethical and responsible technologies. Our workshop will include two 10-minute lightning talks followed by two 60-minute panel discussions. Each panel will begin with 5-minute presentations by each of the four panelists, followed by 20 minutes of moderated discussion and 20 minutes of audience Q&A. The session will also include 10 minutes of opening remarks, a 10-minute break between panels, and 10 minutes for concluding reflections.
