Bio:

Dr. Marwa A. Elsayed is an Assistant Professor specializing in Cybersecurity at the Department of Computer Science, Western University, Canada. Previously, Dr. Elsayed was recognized with the NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship, one of Canada’s most prestigious awards for promising researchers, in 2021 and tenured at the Faculty of Computer Science, Dalhousie University, Halifax, NS, Canada, till 2023. She received her Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Queen’s University, Kingston, ON, Canada, in November 2018. Her research focuses on developing cutting-edge security solutions leveraging interdisciplinary methodologies from the principles of software engineering and artificial intelligence. Her work addresses pressing security issues for software systems, encompassing cloud/edge computing, big data systems, and the Internet of Things (IoT), all of which are considered leading IT trends shaping the essence of emerging Cyber-Physical Systems (CPSs). Dr. Elsayed has received several prominent academic recognitions, including three Best Paper awards at flagship international conferences. She is a member of IEEE and ACM.
