Bio:

Professor of Computer Science at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), holding a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Maryland. Prof. Mendonça was a visiting scientist and was awarded a doctoral fellowship from IBM Toronto Laboratory’s Centre for Advanced Studies. He worked as a Faculty Research Associate at UMCP and as a scientist at the Fraunhofer Center Maryland. He joined Salvador University (Brazil) in 2000, where he headed the university’s Computing Research Center. He joined UFBA in 2009. There, he has headed the computer science graduate program and the university´s software engineering lab. He also headed the Fraunhofer Center for Software and Systems Engineering at UFBA (FPC-UFBA) between 2013-2019. Dr. Mendonça has published over 200 technical papers and is a senior member of both IEEE and the ACM.
