I am a professor and researcher at Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana Iztapalapa in Mexico City. My primary research interest is software architecture. I am currently investigating and developing techiques to assist in the design of software architectures using LLMs. I am also an experienced Software Architect. Since 2006, I have been a consultant for software development companies in topics related to software architecture, including participating as a software architect, performing architecture evaluations and leading architecture teams. I have authored numerous research papers and popularization articles, and have also coauthored the book Designing Software Architectures: A Practical Approach (Addison Wesley Professional), now in its 2d edition. I received a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from Université Joseph Fourier (now Université Grenoble Alpes) in France. I hold the Software Architecture Professional and ATAM Evaluator certificates from the Software Engineering Institute.
