20th European Conference on Software Architecture (ECSA 2026)
Welcome to the preliminary website of the ECSA2026 conference!
The European Conference on Software Architecture (ECSA) is the premier European venue for software architecture, offering researchers, practitioners, and educators a platform to present and discuss the latest, most innovative, and impactful findings and experiences in the field. The 20th edition of ECSA (ECSA 2026) will take place from September 7 to 11, 2026 in Bolzano, Italy.
The conference serves as a crucial forum for researchers to establish collaborations, coordinate ongoing work, and align on emerging challenges in software architecture; therefore, personal attendance is mandatory.
As in previous editions, ECSA 2026 will feature an industry track alongside the main program. The conference will also include tool presentations and demonstrations of cutting-edge developments in software architecture, invited presentations of journal articles, and a series of co-located workshops. PhD researchers will have the opportunity to discuss their projects with senior experts in the field as part of the Doctoral Symposium. In addition, an Open Science track will allow researchers to review, promote, share, and catalog the research artifacts associated with accepted papers.
New this year, ECSA 2026 introduces a Registered Reports Track to encourage researchers to submit their research plans for peer review and acceptance before the results are known. This model promotes transparency, reduces publication bias, and supports rigorous, hypothesis-driven research.
