Getting Around Koblenz

By Bus

From Koblenz main station (Bahnhof Stadtmitte) you can take:

  • Line 3/13 from platform E – Direction Güls
  • Line 4/14 from platform D – Direction Amazon
  • Line 5 from platform D – Direction Universität
  • Line 343 from platform K – Direction Kobern-Gondorf

Get off at Universität or Universität/Winninger Straße. These lines return to the city center (Löhr-Center) and end at the main station. The bus stop is located in the university parking lot.

Use the VRM App (Android) or VRM App (Apple) to check departure times. You can also use the DB App.

Tip: In the VRM App, type "Koblenz Hauptbahnhof" as origin, and either "Universität" or "Uni/Winninger Straße" as destination. Make sure it's the one in Koblenz-Metternich.

Ticket Purchase

For easy travel in Koblenz, you can get a bus ticket in any of these ways:

  • VRM App (Android | iOS) – register, enter your route, then pay by credit card (Visa, MasterCard), SEPA direct debit, or PayPal.
  • DB Navigator App (Android | iOS) – register, enter your route, then pay by PayPal, SEPA, Apple Pay, Bonvoyo, or credit card (AmEx, Diners, MasterCard, Visa).
  • Bus-Infozentrum Löhr-Center: koveb Ticketshop at Löhr-Center (Hohenfelder Straße 20, 56068 Koblenz) – in-person fare advice and ticket sales. Payment: cash, EC card, or credit card.
  • On Board: When boarding a koveb bus, you can pay the driver with cash, EC card, credit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay.
Tip: For stays of several days, consider a One-Day or 3-Day Ticket (often cheaper than multiple single-day tickets).

By Bike

If you'd rather avoid taking the bus within Koblenz or simply explore the city, you can also rent a bike. This is possible with the Rhein Bike app, where you can easily choose between a one-day or multi-day rental. The map function in the app shows you the location of the nearest available Rhein Bike at any time. Select a bike on the map, reserve it, scan the code on the lock, and off you go. You can also rent the appropriate accessories via this app. Further details can be found on the website at rhein-bike.de.

Another option is Micha's Rad-Atelier. They offer high-quality brand-name bikes for rent. Their range includes serviced trekking bikes and e-bikes. You can make a reservation by phone at +49 261/97333166 or by email (info@rad-atelier.de), stating your height for a suitable bike. Further details can be found on the homepage at rad-atelier.de.
