In this part, we start focussing on the specific aspects of green and sustainable software. This part is relatively conceptual, with a focus on the principles of software sustainability, how to design software for sustainability, etc. In this part, the instructors will introduce concrete examples and success stories related to green and sustainable software coming from different domains, such as Cloud-based solutions, mobile applications, etc. The learning objectives of this part include (but are not limited to): teaching students about software sustainability, the technical aspects related to the energy consumption of software, measurement tools, and various state-of-the-art methods and techniques for performing experiments on green software and reporting.
