ESEIW 2025
Sun 28 September - Fri 3 October 2025

The OSCAR project aims to improve education and training systems by developing and testing an innovative, high-quality, and inclusive platform across Europe. The platform promotes cross-cutting digital skills through online and hybrid non-conventional learning experiences. These include activities such as coding camps for high school students. Furthermore, the platform will be complemented by a handbook offering recommendations and implementation guidelines to organize online/hybrid coding camps replicating the dynamics of in-person events. To effectively evaluate participants’ learning progress, the platform requires assessment features that include a combination of metrics tailored to the development process and the software products created by the participants. This paper describes the relevant results obtained so far and illustrates the challenges that are of interest to the ESEM community, such as assessing participants’ learning based on a combination of metrics tailored to the development process and the software products created by the participants.
