Dr Lano led research on object-oriented formal methods and on formal methods/OO integration in the 1990’s, and then worked on UML and MDE formalisation. His recent work is on the integration of MDE and Agile methods, and on program translation. He has had over 250 published papers or books, and is a Fellow of the BCS.
