ICSA 2027
The International Conference on Software Architecture (ICSA) is the premier forum for software architecture research and practice. Since 1998, ICSA has brought together researchers, practitioners, and educators to exchange ideas, share experiences, and shape the future of software architecture.
A defining characteristic of ICSA is its strong working-conference tradition. Through interactive working sessions, the conference fosters deep dialogue between researchers and practitioners, enabling participants to jointly explore emerging architectural challenges, reflect on lessons from real-world systems, and co-create forward-looking research and practice agendas.
ICSA 2027 will be hosted by CSIRO and held in Sydney, Australia, from 8-12th March 2027. Continuing the ICSA tradition, the conference will provide a vibrant and collaborative environment where architectural challenges from industrial practice meet cutting-edge research, supporting the evolution of architectural principles, methods, and tools in a rapidly changing landscape.

ICSA 2027 Theme: The Enduring Role of Software Architecture in an Evolving Landscape
As technologies evolve at an accelerating pace, software architecture remains essential for stabilising system intent, managing complexity, and reasoning about system-level trade-offs. While AI-enabled tools and rapidly changing implementation techniques continue to reshape how software is built and evolved, architecture provides the enduring structures and constraints that guide system evolution, support effective human–AI collaboration, and preserve long-term qualities such as maintainability, resilience, trustworthiness, and sustainability.
