Danushka Liyanage is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Sydney, specialising in automated software testing and database benchmarking. His research focuses on quantitative decision-making for software testing techniques and the development of rigorous benchmarking methodologies for modern data management systems. His doctoral work introduced statistical tools for evaluating and predicting the performance of automated software testing techniques.

Beyond academia, Danushka brings over four years of industry experience as a Data Scientist, where he led and contributed to projects in predictive modelling, optimisation, and time series forecasting across telecommunications, retail, and apparel sectors. He is adept at translating complex data into actionable business insights and has expertise in building predictive and classification models using both conventional and machine learning approaches. His professional contributions include leading teams, mentoring analysts, and delivering enterprise-grade solutions that integrate statistical rigor with practical impact.

Danushka earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Colombo - Sri Lanka, specialising in Industrial Statistics with first-class honours. He was awarded the gold medal for the best student in Industrial Statistics in 2016.
