Christina von Flach Garcia Chavez serves as Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science (DCC) of the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) since 1990. She was the first Director of Graduate Studies (2014-2017) of the Post-graduate degree in Computer Science (PGCOMP-UFBA), which offers Master’s and PhD programs in Computer Science. She holds a PhD degree in Computer Science from the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (2004). She has experience in Computer Science, with emphasis on Software Engineering and the following topics: software ecosystems, software evolution and software engineering education. She is also the coordinator of the Design and Software Evolution research group (aside @ UFBA). In 2016, she was the head of the Computer Science Chamber for Research at FAPESB - Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado da Bahia.
