PROFES 2025
Mon 1 - Wed 3 December 2025 Salerno , Italy

Call for Papers

The industrial track of PROFES 2025 offers an opportunity for practitioners to present their results from applying novel product and process-oriented software engineering methods in an industrial context and to deepen the exchange with fellow practitioners and members of academia. We seek contributions from industrial and academic researchers on topics related to the PROFES 2025 conference about software engineering and systems in practice, sharing their experiences, challenges, successes, and evaluations in all stages of technology readiness levels.

Full Papers

We invite submissions of full papers related to all topics of interest of the conference and are particularly interested in collaborations between industry and academia. Full paper submissions should clearly specify the problem addressed, the application context and the solution applied. They should present lessons learned and highlight the innovation and contribution that are valuable to others. The length must not exceed 16 pages (including references) for all contributions. All submissions will undergo a rigorous peer review process. Papers will be evaluated according to the following criteria:

  • Relevance – relevance of the contents to the industrial track audience and the topics of interest of the conference.
  • Improvement on the state-of-the-practice – the amount of improvement that the work achieves above and beyond the state-of-the-practice.
  • Generality of results – the extent to which the work, approach, experiences presented, or lessons learned are useful/applicable for/to the PROFES community.
  • Clarity – how clearly the experiences/lessons learned are presented and how well they are supported with data and discussion.
  • Overall quality of the submitted manuscript.

Industrial Talks

Industrial Talk proposals offer the opportunity to present new findings, to highlight success stories or to present unsolved problems and put them up for discussion. Proposals for Industrial Talks must be submitted as a 2-page Extended Abstract (following the Springer LNCS style guidelines). Accepted submissions will be presented at the conference, but the submitted talk proposals will not be included in the conference proceedings. Submissions will be evaluated based on their relevance and appropriateness to the intended conference format.
