FLOPS 2024 will be held at Kumamoto City International Center (the 6th floor). There are many hotels in the center of Kumamoto, and the conference venue is in a walking distance from those hotels. A map of Kumamoto city is available here.
Travel Information
Fukuoka airport and Aso Kumamoto airport are close to Kumamoto. Both airports are connected to international airports in Japan such as Haneda airport and Kansai airport as well as Incheon airport in South Korea. This map summaries access to Kumamoto from overseas. If you love trains, you may choose JR shinkansen to get to Kumamoto. Take Haruka Express from Kansai airport to JR Shin-osaka, and then take JR shinkansen to JR Kumamoto station.
From Fukuoka airport to Kumamoto city center
Take the Fukuoka City subway to JR Hakata station. It takes approximately 1 hour by JR Shinkansen from JR Hakata station to JR Kumamoto station. To access the city center, it is convenient to use Kumamoto city tram. Take a tram for “Kengunmachi”, and get off at “Torichosuji” (station No. 11). There is a tram in every 5 to 10 minutes. The fare is 170 yen, and you need to pay exact amount. On the tram, you can only exchange coins and 1000 yen bills.
From Aso Kumamoto airport to Kumamoto city center
Take Kyushu Sanko Bus, and get off at Sakuramachi Bus Terminal.
