If you are traveling to Seoul via airline, please check on whether the name of airport that you arrive at is ICN (Incheon) or GMP (Gimpo). Most international flights to Seoul come through Incheon International Airport (ICN). However, some flight departing from some Asian countries arrive at Gimpo International Airport (GMP).

Incheon Int’l Airport (ICN) → Seoul Dragon City

If your flight is arriving at ICN, please check whether it arrives at Terminal 1 (T1) or Terminal 2 (T2). This depends on the airline and you can find the information on this at this link

Bus

Airport Bus connects both terminals of ICN with major sites of Seoul. One of the most convenient and inexpensive way to reach those sites is taking Airport Limousine Bus Line 6030 which stops at Seoul Dragon City Yongsan. The bus usually departs every 30 minutes from 6 AM to 10 PM (you can find the bus schedule online at this link). It takes around 85 minutes from the airport to Seoul Dragon City. The ticket costs 15000 KRW.

You can find the detailed instructions for Terminal 1 and for Terminal 2 are as follows:

Terminal 1
1. Go outside from Exit 6 on the Arrival floor (1F) and cross the road in front (airport map).
2. Find a Bus Ticket Box (which looks like this) and buy a ticket on Airport Bus Line 6030 (To Hannam-dong).
3. Move to Bus Stop 6B-4 and get on the bus (the bus looks like this).
4. Get off the bus at the Seoul Dragon City Yongsan stop, the 7-th stop from Terminal 1.

Terminal 2
1. Go to B1F (Transportation Center Basement 1)
2. Find a ticket machine (which looks like this) and buy a ticket on Airport Bus Line 6030 (To Hannam-dong).

4. Get off the bus at the Seoul Dragon City Yongsan stop, the 8-th stop from Terminal 2.

Airport Rail Express (AREX) & Metro

You can reach Seoul Dragon City by first taking Airport Rail Express (AREX) from ICN to Seoul Station and then taking Metro Line 1 to Yongsan Station. You can use AREX and the metro from 5 AM to 12 AM. The detailed instructions for traveling from Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 are as follows:

Terminal 1
1. Leave the terminal from Exit 8 on the Arrival Floor (1F) and move to the Transit Center.
2. Find a ticket machine and buy a ticket for the Airport Rail Express (직통열차) heading to Seoul Station (서울역).
3. Take the train. It takes around 43 minutes from Terminal 1 to Seoul Station.
4. Get off the train at Seoul Station, the last destination.
5. Take Metro Line 1 in the Namyeong Direction.
6. Get off at Yongsan Station (2nd stop from Seoul Station).
7. Leave Yongsan Station through Exit 3, which puts your near the entrance to a pedestrian overpass to Seoul Dragon City.

Terminal 2
1. Go to B1F (Transportation Center Basement 1).
2. Buy a ticket for the Airport Rail Express (직통열차) heading to Seoul Station (서울역).
3. Go downstairs (B2) to the train platform.
4. Take the train. It takes around 50 minutes from Terminal 2 to Seoul Station.
5. Get off the train at Seoul Station, the last destination. 4. Take Metro Line 1 in the Namyeong Direction.
6. Get off at Yongsan Station (2nd stop from Seoul Station).
7. Leave Yongsan Station through Exit 3, which puts your near the entrance to a pedestrian overpass to Seoul Dragon City.

Taxi

Taxis to Seoul are always available (24/7) at Incheon Int’l Airport. You can find taxis outside of the 1st floor of the airport (in both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2). Note that there are two types of taxi: ordinary taxis and Deluxe taxis (called Mobeom taxis).

The taxi fee is charged by a taximeter. For an ordinary taxi, the journey from ICN to Seoul usually costs around 45000 KRW (around 38 USD) to ride 49 km in 60 minutes. Travelling late at night (12 AM to 4 AM) costs 20% extra on top of the standard fare. A deluxe taxi costs almost 170% to what an ordinary taxi costs. Most Korean taxis are equipped with a credit card machine, but it would be better to check whether you can pay by credit card before taking the taxi.

Since most Korean taxi drivers do not speak English, you can show the driver the following Korean message:

Gimpo Int’l Airport (GMP) → Seoul Dragon City

Metro

With one transfer, you can get to Seoul Dragon City at Yongsan from Gimpo Int’l Airport via Metro. Among many different routes, we recommend the following:

  1. Go outside from Gate 2 on the 1st floor.
  2. Cross the road in front of Gate 2, and go into the Metro (subway) station.
  3. Buy a ticket for the Airport lane heading to Seoul Station, and take it.
  4. Get off at the Gongdeok station (3rd from Gimpo Airport).
  5. Transfer to the Gyeong-Ui Joongang Line in the Hyochang Park direction.
  6. Get off at Yongsan Station (2nd from Gongdeok).
  7. Leave Yongsan Station through Exit 3, which puts you near the entrance to a pedestrian overpass to Seoul Dragon City.

Taxi
