In recent years COVID-19 global pandemic disrupted many industries. The global chip shortage most visibly impacted the Automotive Industry, but negative effects were also felt in the Data Center Industry. This change in the environment pushed Meta Platforms to look for ways to make better use of existing infrastructure including servers used by the Continuous Integration (CI). This proposal describes our journey towards modernizing part of our resource management system responsible for deciding how much resources to allocate for each CI task. The goal was to reduce resource consumption without sacrificing the quality of the service.
