MODELS 2022
Sun 23 - Fri 28 October 2022 Montréal, Canada
Wed 26 Oct 2022 10:30 - 11:00 at A-3521.1 - Smart Systems

The talk will focus on systems engineering a software-defined vehicle and its corresponding software development kit. We will introduce principles of a robotic vehicle platform, and app integration. We will then introduce the role of models to specify the APIs and behavior requirements, both for platform and App pieces. The models would need to be able to generate a test bench of a particular platform or platform-to-app integration. To do this, we will introduce a novel method for composing models of systems of systems. The talk will conclude with a discussion on agile development with cross-functional teams.

Ahsan has a multidisciplinary background in feedback controls, mechatronics, robotics and model-based systems engineering. He holds a MSc. in Electrical Engineering from Aalborg University Denmark and a PhD in Mechatronics from KTH, Stockholm, Sweden. His experience spans automotive, aerospace, robotic manufacturing, and semiconductor domains. He is currently a systems engineering leader at Ford Model e, where he oversees cross-functional teams who design, analyze and build next generation vehicle embedded systems and corresponding experiences.
