Dr.-Ing. Andreas Jedlitschka is heading the department “Data Science” at the Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering in Kaiserslautern, Germany. After working as an IT-consultant he joined Fraunhofer IESE in 2000. His research interest is empirically-based decision support where he has published more than 50 papers. Currently he is working in the area of Big Data and smart eco-systems. Dr. Jedlitschka was General Chair of PROFES 2013 and Program Co-Chair of ESEM2016. He is member of several Program Committees (e.g., ESEM, PROFES). He is heading the office of the International Software Engineering Research Network (ISERN). In addition, he worked as an independent evaluator for the European Commission in H2020. Andreas co-lectures “Empiricial Model Building and Methods” and the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany. He also gave guest-lectures on selected aspects of empirical software engineering at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Spain. Andreas received his M.S. degree (Diplom, 1994) and PhD (Dr.-Ing., 2009) in Computer Science from the University of Kaiserslautern.
