Jessica Díaz is an associate professor at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (E.T.S. Ingeniería de Sistemas Informáticos, UPM), Spain. She received her PhD degree in Computer Science from UPM in 2012 and the best thesis Award in Computer Science in that course. Since 2003, she is a researcher in System and Software Technology Research Group (SYST). Since then, she is participating in several national and international projects related to Software Engineering and ICT on cyber-physical systems. Her research interests are focused on Empirical Software Engineering, Research methods in SE, Agile Software Development , DevOps, IoT, and Cloud and Edge computing. Currently she is researching about DevOps culture and practice in industry and contributing in the ACM SIGSOFT Empirical Standards. She advocates the evidence-based paradigm in Software Engineering research and works towards closing the gap between industry and academia.
