Uses of Logging and Analytics by Mobile App Developers
Abstract
Mobile apps predate Android and iOS and mobile app developers have found ways to benefit from logging and analytics embedded both in the apps and in the underlying operating system/platform. Some devs only use them to detect and avert crises others embed them in their engineering and operational practices. This talk is based on 15+ years of industrial experiences of using logging and analytics in mobile apps across a wide range of companies and industries internationally. It introduces key considerations such as fitness-for-purpose, data ownership and stewardship, and efficacy.
