PROFES 2025
Mon 1 - Wed 3 December 2025 Salerno , Italy

Promoting and dealing with Advanced Technology in Healthcare (PATH) is a pivotal step towards enhancing the quality and efficiency of medical services. The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI), software security, and privacy into healthcare systems can significantly improve diagnostic accuracy, treatment personalization, and operational efficiency. The goal of the PATH workshop is to explore the application of these technologies in the healthcare sector, focusing on their potential to address key challenges related to clinical outcomes while preserving data security, patient privacy and system reliability. Moreover, the role of AI in enhancing decision-making processes and the importance of secure software infrastructures in safeguarding sensitive medical data are fundamental themes for discussion. Understanding and improving the adoption of such advanced technologies is crucial for shaping the future of healthcare. Thus, the theme of PATH 2025 is "Innovating Healthcare through Advanced Technology.

Call for Papers

The PATH workshop invites submissions that address the integration of advanced technologies—particularly Artificial Intelligence and secure software systems—into modern healthcare. As the healthcare industry undergoes rapid digital transformation, critical issues such as system efficiency, data privacy, and cybersecurity have emerged as core challenges. PATH seeks to explore how technological innovation can be harnessed to improve patient care, streamline healthcare systems and processes, and ensure robust security and ethical compliance.

The goal of PATH is to provide a dedicated forum for the presentation and discussion of cutting-edge research and practical insights related to healthcare technology. The workshop encourages the participation of researchers, practitioners, and policy-makers from academia and industry, and promotes interdisciplinary collaboration to shape the future of secure, efficient, and AI-driven healthcare systems.

Topics of Interest

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • AI-driven healthcare applications and decision support systems
  • Digital health platforms and smart care environments
  • Software security and privacy protection in healthcare systems
  • Ethical and regulatory challenges in AI and healthcare
  • AI in medical diagnostics and personalized treatment plans
  • Secure data management and patient privacy solutions
  • Integration of AI with medical devices and Internet of Medical Things (IoMT)
  • Healthcare data interoperability and system integration
  • Risk management and cybersecurity strategies for healthcare technologies
  • The role of AI in addressing healthcare disparities
  • Evaluation methodologies for AI-driven solutions in healthcare environments

We particularly welcome contributions that report on real-world implementations, empirical findings, or conceptual frameworks that address both the opportunities and challenges of applying advanced technologies in healthcare.

Important Dates

  • Submission Deadline: August 9th, 2025 (extended to August 17th, 2025)
  • Notification of Acceptance: September 9th, 2025 (extended to September 10th, 2025)
  • Camera-Ready Submission: September 23rd, 2025

Submission Types

The PATH workshop welcomes two types of submissions:

  • Short Papers (up to 6 pages): Work in progress, ideas, or vision papers representing research at an early stage.
  • Regular Papers (12 pages): Research work at a mature or advanced stage with validated results or empirical findings.

Submission Guidelines

Submitted papers must conform to the Springer LNCS author guidelines. All papers must be written in English and submitted in PDF format through EasyChair. PATH will adopt a single-blind review process. The EasyChair submission web page for all contributions in PATH 2025 is:
