Kuldar Taveter is a Full Professor in Information Systems and the Head of the Chair of Software Engineering at the Institute of Computer Science of the University of Tartu, Estonia. Jointly with Prof Leon Sterling from the University of Melbourne, Australia, he has developed a methodology of motivational modelling for engineering requirements for and designing sociotechnical systems described in their monograph by MIT Press from 2009, in another monograph by Springer from 2022, and in several other publications. Prof Taveter is currently leading the requirements engineering work package in the Horizon 2020 project ”Pilots for Healthy and Active Ageing” (2019-2024) and led the project on the creation of the process and risk management model for the governance area of the Estonian Ministry of Social Affairs (2023-2024). He has worked as a researcher in Australia, Finland, and the United States, and has been a visiting professor in Malaysia and China.
