Call for Papers

The industrial track of PROFES 2024 offers an opportunity for practitioners to present their results from applying novel product and process-oriented software engineering methods in an industrial context and to deepen the exchange with fellow practitioners as well as members of academia. We seek contributions from industrial and academic researchers on topics related to the PROFES 2024 conference about software engineering and systems in practice, sharing their experiences, challenges, successes, and evaluations in all stages of technology readiness levels.

Full Papers

We invite submissions of full papers related to all topics of interest of the conference and are particular interested in collaborations between industry and academia. Full paper submissions should provide a clear specification of the problem addressed, the application context, and the applied solution. They should present lessons learned and highlight the innovation and contribution valuable for others. For all contributions, the length must not exceed 16 pages (including references). All submissions will undergo a rigorous peer review process. Papers will be evaluated according to the following criteria:

  • Relevance – relevance of the contents to industrial track audience and to the topics of interest of the conference.
  • Improvement on the state-of-the-practice – the amount of improvement that the work achieves above and beyond the state-of-the-practice.
  • Generality of results – the extent to which the work, approach, experiences presented or lessons learned are useful/applicable for/to the PROFES community.
  • Clarity – how clear the experiences/lessons learned are presented and how well they are supported with data and discussion.
  • Overall quality of the submitted manuscript.

Industrial Talks

Industrial Talk proposals offer the opportunity to present new findings, to highlight success stories or to present unsolved problems and put them up for discussion. Proposals for Industrial Talks must be submitted as a 2-page Extended Abstract (following the Springer LNCS style guidelines). Accepted submissions will be presented at the conference, but the submitted talk proposals will not be included in the proceedings. Submissions will be evaluated based on their relevance and appropriateness to the intended conference format.

Important Dates

  • Abstract submission (optional): July 15th
  • Paper submission: August 8th (extended)
  • Notification: September 9th
  • Camera ready submission: September 21st

Submission

All industry papers (full papers and industrial talk proposals) shall be prepared using the Springer LNCS template. The submission Web page for all contributions in PROFES 2024 is: https://easychair.org/my/conference?conf=profes2024

Conference Attendance Expectation

PROFES 2024 will be organized in presence. If a submission is accepted, at least one author must register to the conference and present the paper.
