Call for Papers

PROFES conferences encourage the exchange of ideas that help explore, understand, and model phenomena in software engineering from the point of view of process-product relationships. Traditionally, PROFES provides topics, which are up-to-date, important, and interesting to both practitioners and researchers. To ensure that PROFES will retain its high standards and that it will keep focusing on the most relevant research issues, we are looking for original research on current trends in software engineering aspects addressing products and services. Further, PROFES particularly encourages the submission of studies reporting on the application of respective methods or technologies in real settings.

PROFES encourages the submission of industrial experience reports as well as of empirical studies reporting, e.g., on the application of respective methods or technologies in real settings.

The topics of interest include, but are not restricted to, the following:

  • Process modeling, management, assessment and improvement
  • Value- and feedback-driven software development, agile and lean methods and processes
  • Processes for (digital) software product innovation
  • Software analytics with actionable insights on software products and processes
  • Predictive models for software engineering tasks
  • Infrastructure and processes for iterative or incremental software delivery
  • Continuous deployment and release planning
  • Product quality models for software, systems, and services
  • Project management techniques, global and/or distributed software development
  • Software Engineering processes for AI-enabled systems, including MLOps.
  • AI and Data-Driven Techniques as tools for Software Process Improvement (AI4SE)
  • Methods for developing cloud-based systems and services, incl. monolithic to cloud-native migration
  • Software development for Cyber-Physical Systems
  • Processes and methods for COTS and open-source development
  • Service engineering processes and software business models

We invite submissions of full papers (max. 16 pages) related to all the topics of interest of the conference. Full papers that address collaborations between industry and academia, case studies as well as experience reports on any of the conference themes are particularly welcome. We also encourage the submission of secondary studies on topics of interest with the condition that the submissions should contain a synthesis of findings. All submitted papers will undergo a rigorous peer review process. Papers will be selected based on originality, quality, soundness and relevance. All contributions must be original, not published, accepted or submitted for publication elsewhere.

Important Dates

  • Abstract (optional): July 15th
  • Submission: August 8th (extended)
  • Notification: September 9th
  • Camera ready: September 24th (NEW)

Submission

Submitted papers must conform to the Springer LNCS author guidelines. All papers must be submitted in PDF format according to the Submission Procedure. The submission Web page for all contributions in PROFES 2024 is: https://easychair.org/my/conference?conf=profes2024

Conference Attendance Expectation

PROFES 2024 will be organized in presence. If a submission is accepted, at least one author must register to the conference and present the paper.
