Poster flash: Formalizing metabolic-regulatory networks by hybrid automata
We introduce a metabolic-regulatory network model (MRN) extending the self-replicator system proposed by Molenaar et al. (2011). Our model allows integrating metabolism with catalytic macromolecules, structural building blocks and regulatory proteins. Using MRN, we show that the dynamic interplay between cellular metabolism, macromolecule production and regulation can be formalized by a hybrid automaton, combining continuous dynamics and discrete control.
