Tue 4 - Sat 8 June 2024 Hyderabad, Telangana, India
Thu 6 Jun 2024 12:05 - 12:25 - Session 2: Modeling and Simulation & Posters

Artifacts used in workflows may become inconsistent, preventing the successful completion of a workflow. Modeling these inconsistencies explicitly improves the communication between. We propose to model these inconsistencies with a specific event type, using BPMN 2.0 diagrams and an existing BPMN 2.0 extension. We applied this modeling approach to the workflows and inconsistencies occurring in the entire production process of an exemplary precision manufacturer, which we investigated with nine expert interviews. We evaluated our approach with a system usability scale, with a result of 75. These emerging results show a promising starting point for the modeling of inconsistencies between technical models.
