Arbind Agrahari Baniya is a current PhD candidate in the Centre for Software, Systems and Society (CSSS), School of IT, Deakin University conducting research in generative AI solutions using learning-based computer vision for visual signal data. He is also a sessional academic at the School of IT, Deakin University and a visiting researcher at Agriculture Victoria Research, Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DECCA) in Victoria, Australia. Prior to this, he completed his Master of IT (Professional) degree from Deakin University in 2019 and worked as Research Fellow at the Center for Regional and Rural Futures (CeRRF), Deakin University, with a key focus on system development and data science research for precision agriculture. He completed his Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada (JNTUK), India, in 2017. He is a recipient of merit-based fully-funded scholarships for both undergraduate and PhD studies. He is actively engaged in the research community with several quality peer-reviewed articles, grants, conference presentations and program committee roles, and as a reviewer for journals. His research interests include deep learning, data science, computer vision and system development for data-centric smart solutions with real-world applications.
