Mathias Landhäußer earned a PhD from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (formerly University Karlsruhe (TH)), Germany, in 2016. He researched how computer linguistics and knowledge engineering can be applied in software engineering, especially when it comes to creative tasks such as programming. Mathias is an award winning software engineering researcher and expert in semantic technologies with focus on natural language processing and knowledge engineering.

Mathias’ research interests are software engineering and software testing, especially applying natural language processing techniques in these areas. He is also interested in empirical software engineering. In the last ten years of his academic life, Mathias published his work in international journals and conferences and serves the research community as program committee member and reviewer.

Today, Mathias is Managing Director at thingsTHINKING where he helps applying the latest research results to real-world problems. He works closely with a team of software architects and customers alike to employ AI technology in the field.

Mathias earned a M.Sc. in Information Engineering and Management in 2010 and a PhD with highest honors in Computer Science in 2016, both from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. He is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery and the German Society for Informatics (Gesellschaft für Informatik).
