Prof. Zhi Quan (George) Zhou has a career that spans both academia and industry. He received the BSc degree in computer science from Peking University, China, and the PhD degree in software engineering from The University of Hong Kong. He was a tenured faculty member at the University of Wollongong in Australia. In industry, he served as Director of Test Development at Alibaba and Ant Group. He is currently the Head of the Software Security Tools Department and Senior Expert (Safety & Security) with NIO Automobile Technology Co., Ltd. He is an Honorary Professor of the University of Nottingham Ningbo China. Prof. Zhou was one of the few pioneers who opened up and established the metamorphic testing research field. He was selected for a Virtual Earth Award by Microsoft Research, Redmond, USA, and a 2018 Researcher of the Year Gold Disruptor Award by the Australian Computer Society. His work has been widely reported by international media, including Nature.
