NSF Student Travel Support
NSF Student Travel Support for ISSTA and FSE 2025 (US-based Students Only)
We are pleased to announce the NSF is providing student travel support for ISSTA and FSE 2025! This program seeks to support doctoral students, master’s students, and undergraduate students who are interested in pursuing Ph.D. studies in Software Engineering for attending ISSTA and / or FSE 2025. The travel award will come in the form of travel reimbursement. It will help offset the costs of airfare, transportation, lodging, meals, and registrations for the main conference. Funds are limited, so each awardee may only receive partial support.
Recipients must be students at U.S. institutions. Priorities will be given to:
- Applicants who could not attend without a travel award.
- Students participating in the Doctoral Symposium or Student Research Competition.
- Authors of papers accepted to either technical program, an ISSTA or FSE workshop, or a co-located event.
- U.S. citizens and permanent residents.
Please apply here: https://forms.gle/sjrB8XBKV4n993yD6. The application will require you to upload (a) a current CV, (b) a 1-page cover letter, and (c) a 1-page recommendation letter from your advisor.
The application deadline–including all letters–is Friday, May 23, 2025 AoE. We expect to announce the recipients by Friday, May 30, 2025 AoE.
The travel award will come in the form of travel reimbursement. It will cover airfare, transportation, lodging, meals, and registrations for the main conference. Itemized receipts showing the recipient’s name and original form of payment will be required for all reimbursements. Credit card statements will not be considered itemized receipts.
Air travel must comply with the Fly America Act in order to be reimbursed, which means flights must be taken on a US Flag Air Carrier or in codeshare with such a carrier (some exceptions may apply, but will require extra documentation).
If you have any questions, please email Clay Stevens (cdsteven@iastate.edu).
