Bio:

Dr. Michael Wahler is a Senior Lecturer and Researcher in Software Engineering at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) School of Engineering in Winterthur, Switzerland. His work focuses on sustainable software engineering and automation in software engineering. Michael earned his PhD in Computer Science from ETH Zurich and holds a diploma (equivalent to an MSc) in Computer Science from the Technical University of Munich.

Before joining ZHAW, he held various positions in industry, including Technology Manager at Hitachi Energy, and roles as Group Leader and Department Head at ABB Corporate Research. At ZHAW, Dr. Wahler teaches courses such as Advanced Software Engineering, Introduction to Programming, and Software Projects. He has co-authored over 30 scientific publications and holds more than a dozen patent applications.

Outside of academia, Michael enjoys playing bass and guitar in bands and is active in promoting sustainability in his community.
