Bio:

I am professor of software engineering at Keele University, where I am involved in leadership of various smart energy and transport initiatives crossing academia, the University estate and industry. I spent three decades at University of York, UK, working with Richard Paige, Dimitris Kolovos, and others on model management, and with various interdisciplinary teams.
With York Centre for Complex Sysems Analysis (now York Cross-disciplinary Centre for Systems Analysis), I led work on fitness for purpose and argumentation of simulation rationale, notably as part of the the CoSMoS project, https://www.cosmos-research.org/. I was also part of the York Computational Immunology Lab, which pioneered demonstrably fit for purpose complex systems simulation for laboratory resaerch. I continue to work on simulation engineering.
