ICST 2025
Mon 31 March - Fri 4 April 2025 Naples, Italy

Wednesday, Apr 2: Banquet at Royal Continental

The main social event of the conference will be a dinner at the Hotel Royal Continental (located in Via Partenope 38, Napoli) featuring a mix of live entertainment and music. Attendees can enjoy views of the Naples coastline, with sights like Vesuvius and the city lights enhancing the experience. A diverse selection of dishes and plenty of drinks will be available for all ICST participants throughout the event.

The social dinner will be accompanied by the elegant sounds of LaClassica*, an ensemble of highly trained musicians who will take guests on a musical journey through Italian and international pop and jazz repertoires. At the end of the evening, the audience will be immersed in the evocative atmosphere of Neapolitan tradition with a refined selection of classic Neapolitan arias.

*Founded in 2022 under the guidance of soprano and management engineer Milly Enza Maccaro, LaClassica is dedicated to promoting classical music, with a special focus on opera and Neapolitan songs. Over time, the group has enriched its repertoire by welcoming jazz musicians, creating a unique and engaging musical experience.

Thursday, Apr 3: Guided Tour and Reception

The guided tour will take participants on a fascinating walk through the historic center of Naples, well known for its rich history and vibrant culture. Led by experienced local guides, this tour will immerse attendees in the unique charm of Naples, with stops at some of its most famous landmarks and hidden gems. The guided tour will be curated by the Megaride Art cultural services agency specialized in heritage and tourism (https://www.megarideart.com/). A PDF document containing all the details about the guided tour is available here.

Due to logistics reasons, we have arranged two tours, as detailed below.

  1. The tour starts at Castel dell’Ovo, Naples' oldest castle, offering scenic Gulf views and insights into the city's foundation.
  2. From there, we will enjoy a relaxing walk along the picturesque Seafront Promenade with views of Mount Vesuvius and the island of Capri.
  3. We will continue to Piazza del Plebiscito, one of the most iconic squares in Naples, delving into the fascinating blend of history and legend surrounding the founding of Parthenope, the first settlement of what is now Naples.
  4. Next, we’ll visit the Royal Palace, a 17th-century landmark that housed Spanish, Austrian, and Bourbon rulers before becoming home to the House of Savoy after the Unification of Italy. Today, it houses the National Library and a museum, showcasing Naples’ royal history.
  5. Moving forward, we will admire the stunning Galleria Umberto, the exteriors of the San Carlo Theatre, and the imposing Maschio Angioino, before reaching the renowned Gallerie d’Italia Collection.
  6. The Gallerie d’Italia Collection features an impressive array of paintings of Naples landscapes and Greek vases. It also offers a special exhibition of Raffaello's 'Portrait of Young Woman with Unicorn' painting (1505) and Andy Warhol's renowned works, including 'Triple Elvis' (1963), pieces dedicated to Marilyn Monroe, and two versions of Warhol’s 'Vesuvius' from the Intesa Sanpaolo collection.
