Software testing has become an indispensable task of the software industry. The universities provide students with the fundamental knowledge and techniques of software testing. But students often ignore industry practices and lack real-world testing experience. To address this problem, ISSTA 2019 with the sponsor of MoocTest organizes testing competition for students. The competition aims to bring real-world testing and tool-using experience to the participants and provide them with excellent opportunities to overcome industry testing challenges.

Testing Competition @ ISSTA 2019
July15-19, Beijing
The ACM SIGSOFT International Symposium on Software Testing and Analysis is the leading research symposium on software testing and analysis, bringing together academics, industrial researchers, and practitioners to exchange new ideas, problems, and experience on how to analyze and test software systems. ISSTA 2019 will be held in Crowne Plaza Beijing Zhongguancun, co-located with Testing Competition.
All interested students must register at mooctest.net and join the group “ISSTA 2019 Test Competition” with exercises, during June 1-July 4, 2019. The “Qualifying Competition” will be held in July 6 14:00-17:00 online. We will select 50 students to attend “Final Competition” at ISSTA 2019, in July 15 in Beijing. All contestants must bring their own laptops. The “Final Competition Program” includes:
- The first part is a one-hour tutorial (10:00-12:00). We will help contestants properly configure their laptops, and explain how to use JUnit & Mooctest.net platform. Each contestant is required to have basic knowledge about Java programming and JUnit.
- The second part is the competition (14:00-17:00). Each contestant will design test cases in JUnit format based on the given source code and specification to test 2-3 Java programs. The test results will be evaluated by the code coverage and mutation score. With the same score, people who spends less time will rank higher.
- All contestants are free for testing competition. You can register if you will attend other programs of ISSTA. The top 10 winners among contestants will get certificates and the top 3 winners will win cash awards. The top 10 winners be invited to attend reception in the night of July 17.
