Please note that we have updated the submission and camera ready deadlines to accommodate for the changes of the publisher and the delays that came with the changes. The new deadlines can be taken from the call. Further, due to multiple requests from the community, we have also updated the page length limitations. Details can be taken from the track-specific pages.
ESEM has introduced its open science policy already in 2018 and is among the first software engineering conferences that has actively promoted and supported open science. We are therefore proud to announce two major milestones in the evolution of ESEM towards openness in the community:
- Revised Open Science Policy: ESEM is with the edition of 2026 open by default.
- Partnership with Dagstuhl LIPIcs as new publisher: with the edition of 2026, ESEM is transitioning from IEEE/ACM to LIPIcs to align further its global open science principles and ensure free and unrestricted access to all conference papers, regardless of the authors’ affiliation.
Both are in response by the growing demands in the community and details can be found in the pages linked above.
