ECSA 2026
Mon 7 - Fri 11 September 2026 Bolzano, Italy

Italy is part of the Schengen Area; therefore, visa regulations are governed by the applicable Schengen short-stay rules and depend on the applicant’s nationality.

Participants are strongly advised to verify their visa requirements well in advance through the official Italian government portal:
Visa for Italy

Visa requirements vary based on nationality, passport type, country of residence, and the purpose and duration of the stay. For most ECSA attendees travelling to Bolzano for the conference, the applicable regulations will generally be those for short-term stays.

Applicants should consult the relevant requirements and submit their visa application through the Italian Embassy or Consulate responsible for their place of residence.

As visa processing times can vary significantly depending on the applicant’s country and the time of year, participants are encouraged to begin the application process as early as possible.

Visa Support Letter

Visa support letters are issued only to participants who have completed their conference registration and paid the registration fee in full.

Once registration has been completed and payment confirmed, participants may request a visa support letter by contacting the General Chair, Andrea Janes (Andrea.Janes@unibz.it).

Requests should include the following information:

  • Full name (as it appears on the passport)
  • Affiliation and full postal mailing address
  • Current position
  • Title of the paper to be presented
  • Track or workshop of the paper
  • Registration confirmation number

Please note that the conference organisers are unable to contact or intervene with Embassies or Consulates on behalf of participants. For this reason, early registration and timely initiation of the visa application process are strongly recommended.
