The massive improvements in AI over the last years have changed software as well as software engineering. Empirical research needs to adapt to these changes, but it is also affected in its core. Especially large language models disrupt the way we do empirical research. This panel will discuss the opportunities and risks, and how we as researchers should be part of shaping this era.
