Call for Papers

Industrial experience reports and industry perspectives provide an opportunity to share practical experiences and viewpoints through a short paper and presentation at EASE 2025. An experience report is a reflection of the authors’ own industry experiences, presenting challenges faced, approaches applied to address these challenges, and insights into what could be done differently and what challenges remain. A perspective is an opinion piece on a relevant, current, and possibly controversial topic, based on the authors’ collective experiences.

We invite you to submit a short paper in which you briefly explain your own, unpublished experience or perspective related to evaluation and assessment in software engineering. We encourage submissions describing joint experiences and perspectives developed in collaboration with academia or research organizations.

Topics of Interest

We solicit industrial experience reports and perspective papers on topics including but not limited to the following:
- Assessing the benefits/costs associated with using chosen development technologies
- Development and evaluation of empirical prediction systems or software estimation models
- Empirically-based decision making
- Evaluation and comparison of techniques and models in real-world contexts
- Experimentation in an industrial context, including A/B testing and quasi-experiments
- Modeling, measuring, and assessing product and/or process quality
- Software engineering analytics
- Simulation-based studies in software engineering
- Software project management and knowledge management
- Software technology transfer to the industry
- Raising the profile of assessment, experimentation, and evidence-based approaches for software systems in an industrial context

Review Criteria

All submissions will be reviewed by at least three program committee members of the EASE Industry track. Submissions will be evaluated according to several criteria, in addition to the clarity of the paper:
Originality: How the paper advances the current state of practice in its respective industrial context.
Relevance to Industrial Application Context: The paper’s relevance to the industry must be clearly described.
Significance of Contributions: Explanation of how significant the work is compared to existing related works and similar industrial contexts.
Generalizability and Scalability: Consideration of generalizability and scalability concerns, discussing how the results apply beyond the specific industrial context of the paper.
