Sun 27 May - Sun 3 June 2018 Gothenburg, Sweden
Fri 1 Jun 2018 14:20 - 14:40 at E3 room - Safety and Culture Chair(s): Dusica Marijan

I am a digital industry veteran with over 20 years experience working in commercial and government, across media, marketing and software development, and the emerging technology sector.

Since 2011 I have been working with academic researchers, business teams and software engineers in the transition of deep technology innovation into industry. The work spans multiple knowledge domains across machine learning, optimisation and geospatial, and across multiple industry sectors including top levels of the Australian Government. I am also a design coach and mentor for design practitioners and start ups in Data61 and several incubators.

The Data61 User Experience and Design team specialise in lean UX and solution design practises for innovative technology proto-products which include big data and complex new analytics. We are concerned with the “why” of data and with connecting data need to expertise. And we propose our solutions as parts of dynamic ecosystems, not as stand alone solutions.

Over the last 5 years, I have established a design culture in a scientific and engineering led organisation through demonstration and delivery: - Design thinking as a business development activity via innovation and opportunity workshops with practical outcomes - UX and Design as a unique value proposition in the business for clients and markets via rapid proof of concept and prototype development research and solution design methods - Delivery at scale on multiple high profile, high impact projects including future science platforms and truly disruptive technologies going to market
