Dr. Jianwei Niu is a professor of Computer Science and Associate Dean of University College at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). Dr. Niu received her Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of Waterloo in 2005 and immediately after she started the tenure-track assistant professor position at UTSA. Dr. Niu’s research in cyber security, software privacy, formal methods, and software engineering has been funded by the highly competitive grants from National Science Foundation (NSF), National Security Agency (NSA), US Army, Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB), Microsoft Inc., MITRE Cooperation, etc. She has published more than 50 peer-reviewed publications in highly-selective venues, including ACM Transaction on Information and System Security (TISSEC), IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing (TDSC), IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering (TSE), Journal of Computer Security, IEEE Symposium on Security and Privacy, and ACM/IEEE International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE). Moreover, she has served as an associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing (TDSC) since 2019 and the co-chair of the program committee for ACM Symposium on Access Control Models and Technologies (SACMAT) in 2019. She also has served as a program committee member of many prestigious and top conferences, including ICSE, SACMAT, Symposium on the Science of Security (HotSoS), etc.
