About RE ’24

The IEEE International Requirements Engineering Conference (RE ’24) is the international flagship conference of the Requirements Engineering community. Here, approximately 200-400 researchers, practitioners, and students meet to share advances, challenges and ideas related to software and systems requirements engineering.

While being an academic conference, RE has a strong attendance from practitioners. This is also reflected in the program, with talks, tutorials, and workshops aimed towards practitioners and attendees with an applied research focus.

RE ’24 takes place 24th-28th June 2024 at Reykjavik University, Reykjavik, Iceland. The first two days are reserved for workshops (smaller events with a specialised focus, often featuring early work) and tutorials. The remaining three days are the “main conference”, hosting invited keynotes, as well as presentations from researchers and practitioners.

Attending and Contributing to RE ‘24

Anyone can register for and attend RE ’24, without having to present or publish papers. In addition to the regular program, the conference provides ample opportunity for networking and exchange, such as during lunches, coffee breaks, or social events. Subject to confirmation in Spring 2024, we are planning to offer several tutorials for which participation certificates can be obtained. These tutorials present an excellent opportunity for professional development.

In addition to attendance, practitioners are invited to submit papers or presentation-only contributions. All submissions are evaluated by our program committees – the specific standards differ by track. For practitioners, we recommend considering the Industrial Innovation Track.

Unlike at many industrial conferences, all attendees pay registration fees at academic conferences. This includes people giving presentations. However, registration rates are typically considerably cheaper than for industrial conferences.

Sponsorship Opportunities at RE ‘24

Sponsors form a firm foundation for a successful conference. Furthermore, they improve the conference experience for all participants. Being a sponsor increases the chances for successful networking and future industry collaboration. The RE conference series attracts the newest and best research in requirements engineering, allowing companies to benefit from these novel insights. Finally, RE ’24 offers opportunities to recruit soon-to-graduate students with a specialisation in requirements engineering.

We have created a Industry Sponsorship Leaflet, in which we outline three sponsorship packages and further opportunities. These can naturally be tailored to the sponsors’ wishes and needs. To discuss sponsorship, please contact the general chair, Grischa Liebel, or the local organisation chairs, Anna Sigríður Islind and Marta Kristín Lárusdóttir.
