Tao received his B.S. in Automation and M.Eng in Software Engineering from Northeastern University. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of Seoul, under the supervision of Prof. Byungjeong Lee. After that, Tao spent one year at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow advised by Dr. Xiapu Luo. Currently, he is an associate professor at the School of Computer Science and Technology (Former Faculty of Information Technology), Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST). Before joining MUST, he was a faculty member of Harbin Engineering University and Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications.
