ICSE 2024 - Registration:
Online registrations closed on April 10, 2024 AoE.
It is possible to register in-person at the venue.
Please read the registration information carefully before beginning the online registration.
All accepted papers and posters must be covered by a full or life member registration by at least one co-author (not a student registration) for the main conference, co-located event, or workshop they appear in, as appropriate, even if remote presenting. The Doctoral Symposium is the only event that does not require a full registration. However, each full or life member registration for an event may cover more than one paper co-authored for that event.
ICSE2024 is an in-person event and papers are expected to be presented in-person. In exceptional circumstances (such as visa or health issues), if any co-author of a work is attending in-person, they will need to present the paper. If no co-author is able to attend in-person to present an accepted paper, we ask that you let us know which paper that no co-author is able to present in-person. Such remote presenters will be accommodated for presenting live/live Q&A where feasible, or else via a recording in exceptional circumstances. They will also be able to remote attend a subset of tracks/co-located events/workshops live. As we have to pay substantial additional costs to equip rooms for remote present/live- streaming/live Q&A, only a subset of rooms is able to be so equipped. However, all presentations are planned to be recorded and made available with presenter permission post-conference e.g. via the ACM YouTube channel. Due to these limitations on remote attendance, we are currently not providing a remote attend-only option for ICSE2024.
We are conscious of concerns around environmental costs of conferences. A carbon footprint calculator is available at the bottom of this page. In addition, we have selected as our venue a world-leading conference venue in terms of its efforts to minimise its environmental footprint, including energy, food, conference materials etc. See venue (https://conf.researchr.org/venue/icse-2024/icse-2024-venue) for further details.
Main Conference Days registration entitlements include:
- Access to all main conference sessions on Wednesday, 17 – Friday, 19 April 2024
- Morning coffee, lunch and afternoon coffee on Wednesday, 17 – Friday, 19 April 2024
- A ticket to the Welcome Reception
- A ticket to the Conference Banquet
- Full or life member registration covers one or more co-authored ICSE main conference track papers (any main conference track); papers in co-located event(s) and/or workshop(s) need separate registration by at least one co-author for each of those co-located event(s) and/or workshop(s)
Workshop or Co-Located Event registration entitlements include:
- Access to the co-located event or workshop sessions registered for, and access to sessions of other co-located events or workshops held on the same day(s)
- Morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea on day/s of the co-located event or workshop
- Full or life member registration covers one or more co-located event track or workshop co-authored papers (for each specific co-located event/workshop registering for); however, papers in different workshops or co-located events, even if held on the same day(s), need a full or life member registration by at least one co-author for each workshop or co-located event with a paper
Registration fees
All fees are quoted in Euros (€) and include 23% VAT (Value-Added Tax).

(a) Only current IEEE & ACM members are eligible for the member rate. Members will be asked to provide their membership number during the registration process.
(b) A student is defined as a holder of a student identification card from a recognized tertiary or secondary educational institution or an international student card. Students must be currently enrolled in part or full-time studies to qualify for the discounted rate. Students will be asked to provide proof of student status during the registration process.

Payment Deadlines:
Registrations must be paid in full by 12 February 2024 in order to receive the early bird registration rate.
Method of Payment:
Registration can only be confirmed once payment is received.

Cancellation & Refund Policy
Cancellation of Registration Deadline: 13 February 2024
Cancellations (partial or full) must be made in writing to the Conference Secretariat. Cancellations for in-person registrations made by 13 February 2024 will result in a full refund less € 100 to cover administration costs. As an alternative to cancellation, your registration may be transferred to another person by 13 February 2024, without incurring any cost penalty. The host reserves final decision on a case-by-case basis for granting a cancellation in extenuating circumstances. It is recommended that travel insurance be secured personally upon registering. The Conference Secretariat must be advised in writing of any alterations or transfers of registrations.
Registration Alterations
Delegates must note that some social functions, and even the right to attend a session, may reach their capacity limits and tickets are only guaranteed on a first come first served basis. From 13 February 2024 no refunds will be provided for a transfer of registration. There will be no cancellation allowance for failure to secure a visa to Portugal. It is recommended that travel insurance be secured personally upon registration. The Conference Secretariat must be advised in writing of any alterations or transfers.
