Call for Industrial Experience Reports

Industrial Experience Reports (IER, 6 pages maximum)

CSEE&T particularly invites practitioners in submitting their experiences related to software engineering education and training.

Reports from industry of their experience with delivering software engineering education and training are particularly invited. It is recognized that many of those engaged in industrial training may not be accustomed to writing conventional academic papers about their experiences, but may still have valuable lessons to pass on. This category of submission is intended specifically for such authors, and while they are encouraged to identify points where their work links to established literature or practice, they are not required to include formal literature reviews in these reports. Nevertheless, authors should provide a fair evaluation of the experience obtained when using the proposed approach. For experience reports that fulfill the formal requirements of research papers we encourage submission as research papers.

Format and Submission Procedures

CSEE&T 2023 will continue to use the IEEE double column format for its proceedings. All submissions must conform to this format, and must be within the page limit specified above. For Industrial Experience Reports, CSEE&T 2023 features a common single-blind review process, i.e. unlike for academic research papers, industrial experience reports need not omit the authors’ names or institutions. However, submissions that do not adhere to the formatting guidelines or do exceed the page limits will be desk rejected without further review. All papers must be submitted electronically through EasyChair at https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=cseet2023. Please observe the Important Dates.

Acceptance and Presentation

Conference content will be submitted for inclusion into IEEE Xplore as well as other Abstracting and Indexing (A&I) databases. All accepted submissions are subject to registration and presentation at the conference as a condition for publication. Each paper is evaluated by at least three members of the program committee. After discussion of the paper and the reviews by the program committee the final decision is made. With each accepted paper at least one (co-)author has to register as delegate before the camera ready deadline and present the paper at the conference. Otherwise papers will not be published in the conference proceedings. Oral presentations will take approximately 20 minutes with additional time of 10 minutes for discussions. Detailed information regarding presentation times for each individual paper category will be made upon program creation. Presentations should focus on triggering discussions for the benefit of both, the author(s) and potential adopters of the concept presented.

Guidelines

All submissions must be original and must not have been published previously or currently be under consideration for publication elsewhere. It is expected that submitted papers comply with the ACM plagiarism policy and the IEEE policy on authorship. Prior to preparing papers for submission, potential authors should read the CSEE&T Researchers Guide, found at http://conferences.computer.org/cseet/CSEETResearchGuide.pdf.
