Analysis of qualitative data as part of qualitative and mixed-method research studies is becoming increasingly common. Deriving rich and robust findings from qualitative data analysis requires a good understanding of the nature of qualitative data, relevant collection techniques, and the application of robust and systematic qualitative data analysis. This technical briefing will cover all of the above, and work through real examples of qualitative data analysis using socio-technical grounded theory (STGT) in software engineering research studies, in a hands-on and interactive manner.
