Recent advances in software engineering (SE) and data science emphasize the need for platforms that integrate distributed heterogeneous data sources while maintaining semantic consistency. However, Software Ecosystem Platforms (SECO) often tackle integration and intelligence separately. This paper extends an ecosystem platform, which addresses integration and intelligence to support the development of data-intensive applications. We discuss how ontological inference and AI-based mechanisms can enhance integration. This extension aims to improve data integration, infer missing information, and to automate decisions on a SECO platform. We evaluated the SECO for integrating carbon emissions data to support our claims. As a result, an architecture was extended, and evaluated through an application focused on carbon emissions data context.
